The Popular 10 steps Korean skincare routine
Korean Beauty and Skincare products are taking over the market lately everyone is trying to be part of the trend. K pop stars and celebrities probably made it spread even more because of their perfect and flawless skin.
But skincare routines varies from one person to another some would go to the 10/12 steps rituals and some will just stick to the old cleanse and moisturize routine in taking care of their skin.
So what exactly is the 10 steps all about? Well it's all about layers and layers of products that target each skin type and the skin problems that comes with it.
Step One: Oil cleansing
The first step is taking out all the pollution impurities and makeup/sun screen, using an oil cleanser product on dry skin and just massaging it gently into the face and neck area and rinsing everything afterwords.
Step Two: Foam cleansing
This is called the Double cleansing method based on a watery cleanser that is used on wet skin to remove any residue left from the previous cleansing method and anything else that could still be on your face.
Step Three: Exfoliating
The purpose of this step is to unclog your pores and remove dead skin cells for a brighter and smoother complexion. Only once or twice a week that this step is recommended.
Step Four: Toner
Also called "skin" or "softener" Applied with hands or a cotton bad. After all the cleansing that was done comes the step that balances and preps the skin for the following products.
Step Five: Essence
The most important step of this routine is the essence part. As it hydrates and helps repair the skin. the texture is watery than a serum would be. This one should be applied by hand and just pat it along into your skin.
Step Six: Serum, Booster or Ampoule
A serum is a concentrated essence and a treatment for skin problems, but not necessary if you're not suffering from anything. It's also applied the same way just patting in the product.
Step Seven: Sheet Masks
The goal is to pamper your skin for 15 to 20 minutes while nourishing and fixing the different skin concerns you might have. This step also is not an every day ritual.
Step Eight : Eye Cream
This step provides protection and hydration for the fragile skin around the eyes, as well as healing it's problems.
Step Nine: Moisturizing
Locking in the moisture from the previous steps is the purpose of this step. Moisturizing is the key for a supple and hydrated skin.
Step Ten: Sun Block
It should be used on a daily basis and reapplied through the day. Sunscreen is an anti-aging product that helps protect from wrinkles and damage caused by UV rays.
Following all these steps takes serious dedication from a person besides all the time and money invested. At the end of the day I think we all agree that taking good care of one's skin is important no matter what the number of steps is, as long as it's serving the purpose.
